Professor Kevin Chung, MD, MS, who is the 2017 Noordhoff Lecturer from the University of Michigan gave a marvelous speech on "The indomitable spirit of the masters, Drs. Samuel Noordhoff and Pierre Auguste Renoir" at the 2017 Taiwan Society of Plastic Surgery annual meeting today. I was traveling to Guangzhou and attended the “Sharing of Taiwan Biomedical Industry” with other 9 organizations from Taiwan, which was hosted by Taiwan Trade Center on November 23rd. It brought quite a lot of media and journalists participating with great success. want to share a touching story of one of my patients in Beijing who spoke at this event. Ms. Yi, is a well-known show hostess in Beijing, China. She had her vascularized lymph node transfer and microsurgical breast reconstruction done by me in Taiwan two years ago. She was extremely contented with the operation results. She now can wear her diamond ring on her left middle finger instead of the little finger in the past due to the severe swelling caused by Lymphedema that she suffered for years before the operation.
