Congratulation! The 2nd Edition of Principles and Practice of Lymphedema Surgery was Published

I am extremely excited to share the great news that the 2nd edition of Principles and Practice of Lymphedema Surgery was published by Elsevier on February 1. Eight all-new chapters were added for covering primary lymphedema treatment, diagnostic tools of lymphoscintigraphy and indocyanine green lymphography, and immediate lymphatic reconstruction. Dr.Cheng gave A Virtual Visiting Professor Lecture at The University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA)

I have appreciated the opportunity to give a virtual visiting professor lecture for UCLA today. It brought back memories of the training I took with Dr. William Shaw for one month in 1999. Today’s course is a general introduction of lymphedema microsurgery that covers topics including clinical evaluation, image diagnosis, lymphatic severity grading, VLNT, and LVA patient selection, surgical techniques, long-term outcomes, and mechanism of vascularized lymph node transfer. Congratulation! New Paper Published in The Journal of Microsurgery

Congratulation to Dr. Tiffany Ting-Fong Liu! It is great to share a new publication entitled “Lymphedema microsurgery improved outcomes of pediatric primary extremity lymphedema” in the Journal of Microsurgery. This article highlights the significant improvement of pediatric primary extremity lymphedema using either vascularized lymph node transfer (VLNT) or lymphovenous anastomosis (LVA). 85% of pediatric primary extremity lymphedema required a VLNT rather than LVA to achieve an optimal outcome and satisfactory quality of life.
