- Professor Cheng was invited to attend the 49th Global Plastic Surgery Conference held in Porto, Portugal.
It was a great honor to be invited by Dr. Manuel Caneiro and Dr. Alvaro Silva to attend the 49th Global Plastic Surgery Conference held in Porto, Portugal. This conference brought together plastic surgeons from around the world to present advancements in microsurgical treatment of lymphedema and robotic-assisted microsurgery using the Da Vinci system. Professor Cheng delivered two presentations: "Patient Selection and Outcomes in Microsurgical Treatment of Lymphedema" and "Intracranial-Extracranial Arterial Bypass Surgery" , both of which received enthusiastic feedback. We are grateful for the warm hospitality of the conference organizers and had the pleasure of meeting many outstanding participants. Additionally, we enjoyed a delightful gathering with our friends from Portugal: Dr. Ricardo Horta, Dr. Gustavo Coelho, and Dr. Isabel Oliveira.

The 10th World Lymphedema Symposium was held at Taipei Garden Hotel on April 22-24. The Anderson team, led by Dean Zheng Minghui, spent nearly half a year planning We have invited hundreds of elites in the field of lymphedema from all over the world to join us in this grand event. Each speaker shared their knowledge and experience with heart, launching a grand medical exchange Including live surgical demonstrations, research on lymphedema, etc. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the international faculty, participants, and industrial companies for their invaluable support during the immensely successful 10th World Symposium for Lymphedema Surgery (WSLS) held in Taipei from April 22nd to April 24th, 2024. The dedication and willingness of the faculty to share their knowledge and experiences greatly enriched the symposium, elevating its quality to unprecedented heights. Furthermore, the scientific presentations by participants contributed to the symposium's success, making it a truly remarkable event. Additionally, the innovative technologies introduced by industrial companies promise to revolutionize future lymphedema surgery, offering new avenues for treatment and patient care. Thank you once again for your exceptional contributions to the success of the 10th WSLS. Your dedication to fostering education and empowering students has left an indelible mark on all of us. From the numerous submitted papers, 24 papers were selected for oral presentation and 5 papers were selected for poster presentation. In addition, Professor Zheng also specially invited the CEO of the American non-profit organization Lymphatic Education & Research Network (LE&RN) to share their experience and insights on how to unite the strength of lymphedema patients and cooperate with American Oscar-winning actress Kathy Bates to hold hearings in Congress. - Dr.Cheng gave A Virtual Visiting Professor Lecture at The University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA)
I have appreciated the opportunity to give a virtual visiting professor lecture for UCLA today. It brought back memories of the training I took with Dr. William Shaw for one month in 1999. Today’s course is a general introduction of lymphedema microsurgery that covers topics including clinical evaluation, image diagnosis, lymphatic severity grading, VLNT, and LVA patient selection, surgical techniques, long-term outcomes, and mechanism of vascularized lymph node transfer. I wanted to thank Drs. Andrew Da Lio, Justine Lee, and Jessica Chang for their excellent management of the conference. It was my pleasure to be there and to share what I have been doing with a group of outstanding residents and faculty.

Feel so privileged to be part of the renowned training program with many amazing and talented surgical experts at the 2020 Virtual Duke Flap Course. A wonderful experience to share my presentation of “Vascularized Lymph Node Flap” and especially a breakout discussion panel with Dr. David Song on lymphedema treatments. Congratulations to Drs. Scott Hollenbeck and Detlev Erdmann and all the faculty at Duke University Medical Center for such an outstanding organization to make this virtual conference a great success! An astounding workshop filled with rich exchange and sharing of knowledge, and excellent educative and interactive sessions.

Very happy to have managed to attend the 2020 American Society of Reconstructive Microsurgery (ASRM) Annual Meeting at Marriott Harbor Beach, Fort Lauderdale, Florida. It is such an inspirational multi-disciplinary platform for preeminent microsurgeons and scholars from all over the world to exchange and share the best practices and renowned techniques of their specialization. I presented “VLNT for upper limb lymphedema” as a panelist at the American Association of Hand Surgery and “What is new in Lymphedema surgery” at the ASRM/ WSRM/ ASLS combined section yesterday, which had more than 300 participants. Also, I feel honored to attend the Council Meeting of WSRM last night. It is a privilege to be part of such an outstanding organization of excellence beyond microsurgery techniques!
