This paper highlighted the statistically significant improvement with preferable outcomes in breast cancer-related lymphedema patients treated with Lymphedema Microsurgery in comparison to Complete Decongestive Therapy (CDT). The results of this study also indicated that vascularized lymph node transfer was superior to lymphovenous anastomosis for treating lymphedema in terms of decreases in circumferential difference and episodes of cellulitis. However, microsurgical breast reconstructions using DIEP flap/ TRAM flap did not demonstrate noticeable improvement for breast cancer-related lymphedema.
